3 February 2016

Ali Abdulwahab Al Mutawa Commercial Co. (AAW), one of Kuwait’s leading medical distribution companies and leaders in corporate social responsibility, today announced its sponsorship of awareness day of the National Campaign for Lifesaving Training, a program initiated by the Ministry of Health.

The National Campaign for Lifesaving Training is a two-day program that aims to educate the public on first aid practices and equipping individuals with the necessary response in case of an emergency. The program will be held at The Avenues Mall, Feb. 4-5, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., where participants will undergo training workshops, educational lectures about lifesaving techniques, the use of electronic health equipment, and additional necessary procedures to be followed in case of an emergency. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a certified certificate from the Ministry of Health.

AAW Chairman and CEO, Mr. Faisal Ali Abdulwahab Al Mutawa said: "The National Campaign for Lifesaving Training is a much needed initiative in this day and age, and one that we strongly support. On behalf of everyone at AAW, we thank the Ministry of Health for organizing this drive and for giving us the opportunity to be part of its success."

Ministry of Health Assistant Undersecretary for Assistance Medical Service, Dr. Jamal Al-Harbi said: "Training nearly 2,000 people in first aid practices in Kuwait in the last year, we look forward to the further introduction and expansion of lifesaving courses in Kuwait. As heart disease represents more than 40% of total death annually in Kuwait, it is important to inform the public on how to respond to medical emergencies and practices effectively. We would like to thank AAW for joining us for this program, sparing no effort to support the Ministry of Health with its initiatives and encouraging programs that serves the best interests of society. We look forward to participation from the community, and thank all those involved for helping us carry out our mission to its fullest."

The National Campaign for Lifesaving Training program is also supported by Abdulrahman Mohammad Al-Bahar and the Kuwait Heart Foundation.
