AAW Marks Breast Cancer Month and Mental Health Day with an Awareness Initiative for Employees

Kuwait, October, 2024: Ali Abdulwahab Al Mutawa Commercial Co. (AAW) marked Breast Cancer Awareness Month and World Mental Health Day with an employee-focused awareness initiative. Held throughout October, the initiative featured engaging sessions and workshops aimed at empowering employees, encouraging regular health screenings, and fostering a supportive mental health environment.

The sessions focused on mental health and well-being and were led by certified life coach Sarah Shalhoub, who provided stress management training that can be applied in the workplace. Additionally, discussion sessions were held to help employees better understand their emotions and organize their thoughts, along with emotional intelligence assessments and evaluations.

AAW HR CEO, Mr. Ahmed Bourisli, stated: "At AAW, our observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and World Mental Health Day reflects our deep commitment to social responsibility. We strive to be a leading supporter and advocate for a healthy and thriving community, especially given the rising rates of breast cancer in Kuwait and the concerning statistic that 20% of the population experiences depression annually, according to 2023 data."

He added: "Our goal is to empower our employees with knowledge and hope. We will continue to prioritize awareness and education, believing that every step taken, no matter how small, can make a significant difference."

AAW has supported many organizations since its establishment, particularly in the field of health awareness, as part of its commitment to social responsibility. In recent years, it has provided support to Ruqyah Abdulwahab Alqatami Breast Cancer Foundation, the National Cancer Awareness Campaign (CAN), Human Rights Watch, and the Women's Cultural and Social Society, among others.
